June 11th Coronavirus Update

There have been a few big changes in the past few days, especially in the UK.

Meaning, there’s a few things to get into (to say the least).

The PM has announced that some people can visit other people’s houses, without social distancing. These “bubbles” are exclusive, and whoever’s home you pick to enter, is the only other home you can enter except your own. There are a few conditions though. At least one of the household have to be a 1 adult household, meaning if you live with your parents/or with a partner, you can only visit another household provided they are the only adult residing there. Children aren’t counted, so if in the scenario above, the adult who lives with no other adults has 10 kids or 0, it doesn’t change anything. They aren’t an important variable. This has been put in place to allow those lonelier people in society to start seeing people again. But, if you live alone and happen to be shielding as well, as instructed by the government, you should continue to shield and not let anyone come and visit inside, or interact with anyone in close proximity.

The UK government have been toying with the idea of reducing the distance people need to stay away from eachother to only 1m, meaning more places could open, especially in the hospitality sector. France and some other countries have already changed to this way of social distancing, so the government is probably monitoring these other countries before putting anything in place here.

The test and trace system seems to be sort of working… after only 2/3 of those who tested positive for Coronavirus in UK recently were actually contacted and told to self isolate, showing flaws in the system.

There have been over 1000 new confirmed cases in the UK in the past 24 hours, with 151 deaths as well. These numbers are gradually going down, or at at least have been recently for the past few weeks, but they seem to be fluctuating now, going higher and lower every few days. But, it seems the death rate is in a steady downtrend overall, no matter how gradual. A summary of other parts of the world are posted below.
