Iran Jepordising Instex Trade Mechanism

Iran continues to play into America’s hands with its latest cryptic message in response to the EU insisting it reconsidered its current course of action. Despite the European Union having set up a mechanism for facilitating trade, known as Instex on the 29 June, which is essentially a barter platform between Iranian and foreign companies Iran said it did not meet its needs and will continue to enrich Uranium. It intends to keep breaching its commitments by increasing amounts every 60 days and came out with a strange warning that “certain strange acts” will prompt it to “skip all the next steps” and implement the final one. Who knows outside of the regime what this means? but whatever it will not help things.

To be fair Instex is far from ideal, however, it is a whole lot better than nothing and given the perilous state of the Iranian economy they should be grasping this with both hands and appreciating the wedge it is driving between the EU & the US.  European leaders and for that matter, world leaders fear Iran is going to produce a nuclear weapon – something they deny, but if that’s the case why come out with the statement above about implementing a final step?
