It’s scary right now in the UK. We’re actually getting some summer weather and no one knows what to do with themselves.

It’s hot right now!

British summers usually consist of rain, rain, and a little more rain, but this year has been a bit different – it’s been very sunny overall. Typical that it’d be like this during a global pandemic, but whatever…

So you’re probably wondering, how do I cool down?

  • Wear loose clothes

This may come as a surprise to some people because you’re technically wearing “more” clothes, but by wearing loose clothes, you’re allowing the air to travel freely through them, as oppose to getting trapped inside tighter clothes, which can act like insulation.

  • Wear light coloured clothes

Lighter colours don’t conduct heat as well as darker ones. You ever got into a black car on a hot day? You’ll know what I mean if you have…

  • Drink cold drinks

A pretty self explanatory one. Cold drinks will cool you down, because they’re cold.

  • Stay inside

Often indoors is cooler than outside. You may even be lucky enough to have AC inside too, so staying inside can actually be cooler than going out more time’s than not.

  • Stay in the shade

Staying in the shade is another obvious one, as you’re literally avoiding the thing making everything hot by sitting there. It’s also good to remember to stay there during peak time’s of the day, as you don’t want to be hot AND sun burned.

  • Stay hydrated

Hydration is important when you’re outside in the sun for a number of reasons. Drinking water can keep you from feeling less hot and bothered than you would without it, and there’s nothing worse than being dehydrated in the sun.

We hope these simple tips have helped you stay cooler during these hot days. You can’t please us Brits when it comes to weather can you?

It’s set to rain in a few days anyways so hopefully we won’t have to suffer for too much longer!
