This year, High Streets are facing a make-or-break situation as shoppers are turning online for their Christmas and Black Friday shopping. The number of items bought in stores has fallen in the last three months.

Non-food items (such as clothes and homeware) in store sales have dropped by 2 per cent, on the other hand, non-food items on online sales has increased by 6.7 per cent.

Christmas sales is a critical period for the High Street and last year’s in sore sale growth was the worst for five years.

The High street stores are continuing to drop as department stores such as Debenhams are set to reduce their stores due to lack of in store profits.

If you want to save your high street it is important to take the time to shop in store rather than doing all your shopping indoors.
