A new TV documentary, Faking It: Tears Of A Crime, airs on Friday 2nd November at 10pm on Investigation Discovery Channel. It will cover Harold Shipman who used his position as a doctor to murder hundreds of people. It includes experts in psychology, body language and speech analyse that will look at Shipman’s behaviour in a number in several TV and police interview. This will uncover how he gave himself away in just nine seconds.

Shipman was sentenced to 15 life terms in 2000, but police questioned him again in 2001. He was questioned again in connection to more suspicious deaths during his time as a GP in West Yorkshire. In this recorded interview he gave it away in nine seconds due to him not taking a breath.

Between 1971 and 1998 Shipman killed mostly elderly female patients by injecting them with diamorphine (a pharmaceutical heroin).  He killed at least 215 and possible 260.  He watched his victims die and then carry on with his day like nothing happened. Shipman got away with these murders for 25 years…
