Ex Manchester United player and Wales manager Ryan Giggs will miss the next 3 games for Wales after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend.

The pair pictured together in 2018.

He stepped aside voluntarily after he was arrested and questioned on actual bodily harm charges, after an alleged altercation with partner Kate Greville.

He has been dating her on and off since 2017 and denies all allegations against him and a statement was released on his behalf which said: “He is cooperating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigation.”

Police arrived at his home at around 10pm after reports of a disturbance at the property – Giggs was shortly after taken away in a black car for questioning.

The next 3 games, against USA, Ireland, and Finland will be without Giggs management.

A statement from the Welsh FA said: “The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp.

“Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches.

“Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.”

More to come.
