The FBI has made some huge claims regarding the current presidential campaign.

They claim that Russia and Iran have taken “specific actions” to try and influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential campaign.

US Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said: “Two foreign actors, Iran and Russia, have taken specific actions to influence public opinion relating to our elections.

“First, we have confirmed that some voter registration information has been obtained by Iran, and separately, by Russia.

“This data can be used by foreign actors to attempt to communicate false information to registered voters, that they hope will cause confusion and undermine your confidence in American democracy.”

“If you receive an intimidating or manipulative email in your inbox, don’t be alarmed and do not spread it,” Mr Ratcliffe continued, calling the actions to influence US voters “desperate attempts by desperate adversaries”.

The influence is set to benefit Biden seemingly, after the FBI accused Iran of sending spoof emails to try and cause conflict in Trump voters.

Its not fully clear what Russia is doing, but they have voters data according to some sources.

After Trumps complicated history with the two countries, you could have made your own assumptions about who out of the two candidates was being meddled with, but it’s not entirely clear why yet.

More to come.
