A double decker bus has been reported to have been overturned due to the icy road conditions in Somerset. 

Police have since attended the crash that took place in Somerset at 06:00 GMT time. This crash involved a motorcyclist and was on the A39 near Cannington.

According to reports, there was 70 people involved in the crash and 54 people have been treated at the scene and there has been no fatalities.

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police said 26 of the 54 patients were “walking wounded” and are being treated at Bridgwater minor injury unit and Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Stated the BBC!

“All I could hear was noise, lots of shouting,” Ms Ware said.

“This is quite a busy road and we do have regular accidents but this one being quite a serious incident shook us all.”

This is what one member of the police department said about the freezing conditions.

“The conditions are extremely icy and dangerous due to the freezing conditions overnight and residual water on the road from the past week’s wet weather,” a spokesperson for police said.
