Four more patients have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus – which means there are now 8 total patients with the illness.

The news of the double has came after the government announced it had new powers to keep people quarantined.

The Coronavirus has now been described as a “serious and imminent threat”, and the overall health risk to UK citizens remains “moderate”.

Most cases of the virus are still contained in China, where all 900+ deaths are, and when the chief medical professor for England spoke about the 4 new cases, he said they were “all known contacts of a previously confirmed UK case, and the virus had been passed on in France”.

He added that the new cases had been transferred to specialist NHS facilities in London.

In regards to the centre of the outbreak, Wuhan, it is still in lockdown and the streets have been described as desolate by many.
