The A’s restocked their bench ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Royals, recalling outfielder Jake Smolinski from Triple-A Nashville. The A’s remain hopeful that veteran right-hander Trevor Cahill, who has been slowed by an Achilles injury, will be able to avoid the disabled list.
