Nick Martini drove in Stephen Piscotty in the eighth inning for his first big league hit and RBI and the go-head run as the A’s came back to defeat the White Sox. Piscotty also homered, which helped Oakland tie an MLB record — the club has now gone deep in 24 straight road games. Matt Olson added a solo big fly, while Jed Lowrie notched a two-run double in the three-run fifth. Starter Daniel Mengden left with a right foot sprain after just two frames, and Chicago’s Dylan Covey didn’t fare much better, exiting after four-plus with right hip soreness. The White Sox offense came mostly in the first inning, keyed by Tim Anderson’s three-run homer on his 25th birthday.
