A’s lefty Sean Manaea was on cruise control against the Mariners on Sunday afternoon, working seven innings opposite Seattle ace Felix Hernandez and propelling the A’s to a 2-1 victory at Safeco Field with help from a two-run homer from Jed Lowrie in the first inning. Manaea allowed just two hits in chilly temps, his lone blemish a solo home run to Taylor Motter in the fifth. Hernandez went 6 1/3 innings for the Mariners, allowing two runs and five hits with seven strikeouts.
