Game one of the 2021 World Series gets underway in Houston tonight with the opening two games being played here due to the Astros having the better seasonal record. Houston are in their third final in 5 years and won it in 2017. They reached the finals with a 3-1 win over the Chicago White Sox and by beating Boston 4-2. The latter was a bit of a slugfest where they gave up 28 runs in the 6 games. Their pitching did improve over the last three games, but it does remain a concern if you are a Houston fan.

They face off against the Atlanta Braves who looked anything but World Series contenders through the first half of the season. However, they came on strong coming into the fall and have looked good in the postseason. They dismissed the Brewers 3-1 in the NLDS and then ground out a win in the NLCS over an injury-hit LA Dodgers.
This sets the scene for an intriguing World series where neither side seems to have their rotation set and thus we nay have some high scoring games to look forward to.
Who Wins?
We were not too high on either side coming into the playoffs largely due to these pitching concerns. Still, we have a choice to make and overall we think that the Braves have overcome better teams and probably have the pitching edge. Houston should take this one all the way through and it could be a tense game seven.
