After the departure of Maurizio Sarri this summer, Chelsea need to find themselves a new manager… and soon! There have been a lot of rumours going around of 2 potential managers that could be taking charge of Chelsea in the next few weeks. One of them, currently manages Derby and use to be Chelsea’s best midfielder, the other has managed Chelsea before and was told to be the special one at the club!
Frank Lampard is next in line to be the Chelsea Manager! A lot of fans believe this is what Chelsea are needing right now. Lampard has been successful with Derby and could be staying there if he doesn’t decide to change it up and come to Stamford bridge instead! Ex Southampton boss Harry Redknapp says that Lampard can handle the reins at Stamford Bridge. “He will have real authority. He won’t stand any nonsense” said Redknapp. Even though Chelsea currently have a transfer ban, Lampard could be able to make do with the players he has and will make sure they perform well.
Jose Mourinho is the second manager that could take over Chelsea. This has only been a rumour as of now, however since he hasn’t got a club, this could happen soon. He has managed Chelsea twice, once from 2004-2007 and again in 2013-2015! Now he could be returning to Stamford bridge once again and potential winning them a Premier League title without Eden Hazard! He has been in this situation before with Manchester United, so this should be the same! Mourinho joining Chelsea could be very unlikely however, since he did get sacked in 2018 for the lack of form and not gaining a champions league spot!
