People after getting their dark circles tattooed away with a permanent under-eye concealer in a bizarre new cosmetic trend.
Cosmetic tattooing is becoming a beauty routine like a manicure is. The microblading brows is as just as popular as it was at the start and continues to grow in popularity. Tattoo eyeliner and lip liner are also are popular in the cosmetic tattoo industry. Now under-eye concealer tattoos are a thing everyone is jumping into it with open arms, getting this cosmetic tattoo means you can say goodbye to dark circles and you will not need to worry about how your undereyes look.
Dark circles are caused by dark tissue and blood vessels underneath the skin, it can be hard to find a good cream or concealer to cover them this is why many are choosing to go with the tattoo treatment.
The under-eye concealer tattoo is very similar to other permanent makeup treatments in that the pigment is inked into the skin by a cosmetic tattoo gun. The pigment sits one layer under the skin to act as a buffer between the source between the darkness and the surface of the skin.
The procedure is currently being done by Brazilian tattoo artist, Rodolpho Torres, who specialises in camouflaging skin ailments using skin tone pigments. He treats stretch marks as well as dark circles. He uses a small handheld device to detect a client’s individual skin tone to customise the ink and ensures it matches perfectly before starting the tattoo process. There is a difference from under-eye concealer tattooing and microblading, the difference is that the ink he uses for the under-eyes is permanent.
Rodolpho said: “It’s not micro pigmentation, it’s a tattoo,” he added: “You can live a normal life and expose it to sunlight knowing that your skin will not become stained, because the tattoo pigments approved by Anvisa give us this security.”
After getting your under-eyes tattooed you just have to use an ointment to soothe the skin and to promote healing. For the few days after it is important to keep the area dry, avoid makeup and active skin care.
When this treatment comes to the UK it is most likely going to be more like microblading with the ink only being semi-permanent which means two appointments are needed six weeks apart then a top-up every 2-3 years.
As it is a new procedure there is no known long term downsides but as our skin get older the eye area normally starts to age so there could be potential for the skin to sag. This means the positioning of the under-eye pigment may move from where it was first done.
