Henna brows is the new eyebrow treatment which has been taking over the eyebrow game this year. It is the treatment all beauty experts are adding to their treatment list so clients can get the best for their brows.
Henna brows are perfect if you do not have the time to fill and shape your eyebrows every morning. It is a temporary tint which causes no pain and gives you the brows of your dreams. After this treatment there will be no need for any eyebrow pencils/pomades/powers. It is also a great way to trial a shape before microblading.
Henna is traditionally known as a method of body design in the Middle East, India and Africa. In Africa, Pakistan, India, and the Middle East it was a traditionally used for special occasions such as weddings. The most popular tradition is the Mehndi night where the bride, her family, relatives and friends will get together to celebrate the upcoming wedding.
What are henna brows?
Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tinting which is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of henna brows is to create a shadow or to create an illusion of fullness and depth of the brows.
Henna is a natural dye which is made from a plant known as the henna tree and/or hina. The dye for henna brows has been altered to fit eyebrow tones. The henna has been given colour pigments so they can stay the correct colour for eyebrows and it will not go the reddish colour which the traditional henna does.
How long do henna brows last?
Henna brows last up to 2-4 weeks after treatment, this all comes down to your skin type. If you have a dry/’normal’ skin type henna tends to last longer than it would on someone who has oily skin. Henna brows will also not last long if you over wash your face.
Henna vs Tint
Henna compared to the usual eyebrow tints is much safer and more natural. Normal tints will have peroxide activators which can make it a bad option for people who have sensitive skin. Henna is vegan friendly and is free from peroxide activators making it perfect for sensitive and all skin types.
Henna also produces longer lasting results compared to tints, it is more of a step towards permanent procedures. Unlike normal tints, henna will end up more matte and it will look more fluffier.
Normal eyebrow tints will only tint the eyebrow hairs they may tint the skin slightly but it will fade in the days following. On the other hand, henna will dye your skin and eyebrow hair so you get definition, it will grip to the skin and will last longer on the skin than normal tint.
