Lengths of eyelash extensions go from 8mm to 15mm. If you get too longer lashes it can mean it can cause breakage.

If you wear glasses its best to stay away from lashes longer than 12mm.

What materials are there?

There are two main types of eyelash extensions materials which create two different looks.

Synthetic – synthetic lashes have more of a plastic/shiny appearance which makes them look at feel unnatural.

Mink/silk – these lashes are much more lighter for the client/yourself and create a more fluffy/natural. They are much more comfortable for the client/yourself .

What should I do before you go to get them done?

  • Remove any eye makeup – you should remove any eye makeup from your eyes before going to get your eyelashes done so the eyelash technician does not have to spend time thoroughly cleaning your lashes.
  • Clean your lashes – make sure you have clean lashes with no mascara excess or false eyelash glue stuck on your natural lashes this will mean that you will save time in the appointment.
  • Do your research – make sure you research where you are going so you do not go to someone who is not qualified or does them incorrectly. If the place is doing eyelash extensions (classic, russian and hybrid) for only £20 – £25 this is normally a sign they are not doing something correct unless it is an introductory price!
  • Remove contacts lenses – remove any contact lenses before your eyelash extensions to avoid discomfort and lashes will fall in their natural rested state.
  • Do not apply product to the area – do not apply any creams, lotions or products to the lashes prior to the appointment. Make sure your eyelashes are clean as this means the glue will work properly.
  • Do not curl your lashes – do not curl your eyelashes prior to the appointment as this will not allow the technician to see the natural healthy state of your lashes.

What is the aftercare advice?

  • Avoid contact with water for first 24hours of treatment
  • Avoid any heat treatments sauna, steam, swimming, hot water on eyes for first 48 hours
  • No mascara should be used. As it clumps lashes together.
  • Do not rub or pick at the eyes.

  • Be careful with make ups etc that may contain oils and cause the lashes to come off.
  • When washing the face always pat dry and avoid rubbing.
