Fashion week brings lots of fashion and beauty inspo that soon turn into the latest trends in the next season.
The top of the list for the new trends for next season is glitter. It was seen on the eyes at Ashish, the A/W19 glitter continued at LFW with colour-rich glimmers at Paula Knorr. The artist behind all this glitter is US makeup artist Lottie, A.K.A @lotstar, flying to the UK, the Beauty Blender Pro Artist done two LFW shows. “London has so much edge and isn’t afraid of colour or creativity. It’s what I love most” she reveals.
The trick is to mix colour and shimmer with gloss, as Lottie reveals “Glow! Gloss! Glitter!”
Lottie said: “We applied Beauty Blender Bounce Foundation on top of their new Opal Essence Primer [out in March] to give a luminous glow skin effect.
“On cheeks I mixed Shiseido Aura Dew [which gives a healthy dose of sparkle] with cream blush and we placed it high onto cheeks and up onto the temples for a 70’s disco feel. It was so fun to see the girls on stage dancing and feeling beautiful with this colour palette of rose, red, pink and rose gold.”
For the colour on the eyes and lips she used Shiseido Kajal Ink Artist pencils in Rose Pagoda and Lilac Lotus, topped with glitter paste by Lemonhead LA.
Here are some more fashion week inspo at AW19…
Burberry
Burberry made a statement with their hair styles at this years AW show. The model’s brows were washed out by makeup artist Pat McGrath to allow the complexion to be bare and natural. The complexion was also to create a blank canvas for the hair squiggle masterpiece created by Guido Palau.

Ashish
Ashish did not think less is more at fashion week, instead the models had big hair and big splashes of glitter. MAC’s lead makeup artist, Isamaya Ffrench, used three different colours of MAC Glitter on the eyes and two different shades on the lips to create this shimmery chaos.
Vivienne Westwood
Isamaya Ffrench airbrushed gold the centre of the model’s faces at Vivienne Westwood’s show. Manicurist Marian Newman used silver strips and shapes cut from recycled metallic materials to create negative space nail art, all in the name of sustainable fashion.
Halpern
Isamaya Ffrench was inspired by ‘old-fashioned cruise ships’ when she created the iridescent, separated gold eye lids at Halpern. She used loose strokes of MAC Chroma Paint, creating a patchwork of colours. Next she covered the painted Masterpiece with gold leaf and pat until the foil starts to separate and ‘crack’ to give a glimpse of the rainbow shades beneath.
