The beauty trends set for this year by the runways…

There are so many main beauty trends that have been seen on the runways and will be tried by many.

Many new trends have started from the Spring Summer 2019 fashion shows. Fashion week is where all the beauty trends start and once they have been seen they cannot be unseen. Many makeup artists are showing their creativity and new techniques for the runway to show that beauty is an art. This year is the year for bright dazzling colours, it has been the trends for fashion so who says it will not to be for the makeup, nails and hair?

There are the beauty trends seen on the Spring Summer 2019 shows.

Slick back braids…

As seen on Alexander McQueen Spring 2019 runway, hair stylist Guido Palau stole the show by showing off his slick back braids. The hair has been parted and slicked to the head going down into perfect braids. The hair looked glossy and healthy on all the models and matched the looks perfectly. Could this be the new hair style that takes over the space buns?

Glitter is not ready to leave yet…

Metallics may be the big feature this year but that does not mean glitter is planning on leaving anytime soon – everyone needs a bit of glitter in their life! Hair stylist Paul Hanlon created glitter hair by coming it through the model’s hair to create the glitter wonderland. The models were part of the Giambattista Valli runway in Paris. He nailed the glitter hair look.

Thumbprint eyeliner…

It has returned for a second season; the effortless eyeliner can be done quicker and use less time to perfect. It was seen on the runway again at Dries Van Noten show and was created by makeup artist Peter Philips. Say goodbye to the Ariana Grande sharp eyeliner and say hello to thumbprint eyeliner. It was brought to the public’s attention at the SS18 catwalks. All you have to do is dip your finger in your pot of gel eyeliner or eyeshadow, press it in place and you are ready to go. Eyeshadow is better for a subtler version as it has a softer finish, do not be afraid to try out different colours and textures – stand out from the crowd.

Colourful wings…

Eyeliner can be created in many different looks there is endless amounts of creativity. This year in the Valentino SS19 show, makeup artist Pat McGrath used jewels and a vibrant green to create a dramatic winged eye look. The eye looks are a big trend this year as they bring endless amounts of creativity and there is no limits. You can make the eye liner look into your own by using glitters, jewels or colourful eyeliners to get a show stopping look. Pat McGrath Instagram page is full of inspirational looks for eyeliner, if you want a toned down but colourful look, take a look at this piece she did:

Slicked back hair…

Slicked back hair with a wet-looked finish is back in this year with a no-fuss look. It was seen at Victoria Beckham’s show. The models hair was slicked back in a messy way but was giving everyone inspiration with its simply but sleek style. This could be the go to hairstyle for 2019 as it is so simple to create when your hair inspo is dry.

Graphic lines…

Make your eyes pop by adding graphic lines around the eyes. Graphic lines can be just lines or you can make it into an eyeliner look to make your eyes pop and make people envious. If you want to get a graphic eyeliner pick a colour such as a bright pink liquid eyeliner is best (NYX Vivid Brights Liners are the best) then once you have your desired shape outline or go over the outline with white liquid eyeliner to make it pop.

Foil Lips…

Foil lips were seen at Jeremy Scott’s SS19 show and they made a statement with barely any makeup on the rest of the face. This was done by makeup artist Kabuki and it is loved by many. The foil look gives a different statement part of the face instead of it being all about the eyes, he switched it up and made it all about the lips. Forget about matte lips this year it is all about foil lips…
