The Black Widow

The black widow often get mistaken for Australia’s red back spider but they are different in many ways. The black widow had venom 15 times stronger than a rattlesnake. The black widow is so well know the name itself has been put into movies. Where a woman would seek out and destroy her male target. 

The black widow venom aims to attack your central nervous system and within 15-20 minutes your body will be in complete and utter pain all over. The venom doesn’t just attack the nerves system it also attack its victims insides. 

The spider has two large venom glands with pump out poison though two hollow fangs, and has a jaw which can pop out when needed. The black widow iconic red strip isn’t always red. There are 10 species of Black widow spider in Latin America alone. There patterns can vary in many different ways, most commonly you’ll see a red strip but some even have yellow strips across the top of there abdomen. The most common shape found on a Black widow is red hourglass markings. The Black widow spider is found all the away across Latin America there’s no certain area where they can be found.

The reason they have their name the Black widow is because they all have these silky blackness and as part of the mating process they’ll eat the male during or after mating. You’ll also fine that the males are not really the threat it’s more so the females. The mates are two times smaller than the females. 

Black widows can eat animals much more times there size due to how strong there web is. They can eat small lizards and snakes due to how powerful there toxic venom is. Black widow are poor climbers so there homes are often found near the ground, often near shed and porches.
