In sandy areas of South and Central America you’ll find this pop out type spider. As it a sit and wait predictor, it is known for burying itself in the sand to keep itself hidden then when prey comes along it jumps out.
It’s genus name Sicarius is Latin for murderer. It has venom which has the potential to be fatal, its venom can cause damage to the heart,kidneys,liver and arteries, it’s venom also rots flesh.This spider is related to the violin back spider, which is responsible for hundreds of widespread attacks.
This spider main meals are insects and scorpions and can wait up to a year to devour its prey, once they bite their prey becomes immobilised instantaneously. They can live up to 15 years four times longer than average. This spider can also see in multi vision.
