Humboldt Squid

The Humboldt Squid is one of the most deadliest squids know small in size but have plenty danger about them. They have thousands of needle-sharp teeth and a bone crushing beak. There bite can even break though steel cables. They highly intelligent and are known to unscrew glass jars. 

These squid can flash colours red and white. This is how they communicate with there family they tend to run in groups of up to 1000 at a time. They have a million light reflecting cells that are wired directly to the brain. This product a secret code only Humboldt squids can understand. 

Some scientists calm that the squid’s ability to change colour could also be a defence mechanism as they can adapt to there background, this way they can avoid large predators. The squid is very aggressive, both individual and in groups. 

This goes for hunting and defending itself in the sea. 

Theses animals are located off the west coast of South America. However in the Sea of Cortez off Mexico the Humboldt squid once thrived, many people have reported many deaths from these squids, however the numbers of these animals have plummeted without a single reason. It can grow to about 2 meters in length and weight up to 100-Kilograms.
