This is one of the most poisonous small snakes in South America. It is prone to bite your face, head or shoulders putting the venom closer to your main vitals centre.
It has large fangs in a mouth that can open 180 degrees, it has infra-red receptors and its fangs can rotate together or independently. They are found in the cool mountains ranges of Mexico and northern South America.
It is most commonly found in tree tops getting perfect advantage point as it is a patient ambush predator.
