Wilder v Ortiz Rematch!

Wilder v Ortiz Rematch!

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has decided to fight Luiz Ortiz instead of the likes of Fury and Joshua! This was announced on Tuesday that the rematch is happening and will be taking place very soon. These two fought back in 2018 in a gruesome contest that lasted 10 rounds with Wilder retaining the title and beating Ortiz via TKO. This match will be happening at some point, they need to just sort out the venue and the contract!

This means that regardless to Anthony Joshua’s goals of becoming the unified world heavyweight champion, that is if he retains all his belts against Andy Ruiz on the 1st June 2019, he will have to wait for a chance to fight the American fighter since he has chosen to fight Ortiz once again. This also means Fury will be waiting to fight Wilder as well, since Wilder and Fury both got order to fight each other again after a questionable draw on the 1st December.

Wilder v Ortiz 2 is happening and did come as a bit of a surprise to many fighters and fans around the world. Wilder and his team has a plan, this plan doesn’t involve any of the main and best heavyweights in the division, so it’s like Deontay Wilder is dodging all the best heavyweights and fighting some heavyweights he believes he will beat. His plan is after the Breazeale fight, he would go on to fight Ortiz this fall, sparking a new rematch and having everyone wonder why he went for him. After this fight, he plans to fight the unbeaten Polish heavyweight Adam Kownacki in early 2020. So, this year we won’t be seeing Wilder v Fury 2 or Wilder v Joshua, however we could be seeing Joshua v Fury this year… Since Wilder isn’t wanting to fight them this year!

3rd March 2018, the last time these two were in the ring with each other, the last time these two, most likely, saw each other. Now, they are having a rematch and Ortiz could have a great opportunity to win this bout and be crowd WBC world heavyweight champion, like he almost did back then. If this went to the score cards, this would have been a close contest since all judges scored the bout 85-84 in favour of Wilder. This fall, this fight will happen again… what will happen?
