Last Saturday, the world of boxing saw one of the biggest fights and the biggest surprise in the history of the sport, almost as big as the upset Joshua had to Andy Ruiz Jr on the 1st June 2019. A masterclass performance from one of the best heavyweights in the division. Tyson Fury has managed to win back what he didn’t lose in the first place, the new WBC world heavyweight champion of the world… Tyson Fury! Wilder was very confident until the fight day and managed to lose his first ever fight and his title!
Throughout the fight, Fury was in top and the one that was going to win. Watching the fight there was no doubt that this was going to happen. Wilder had a few nice shots in the first round but overall, Fury trained hard and well for this fight and did everything possible to ensure that he wins the WBC world heavyweight championship. Wilder went down in both round three and five however Fury lost a point in round five, however Fury managed to win the fight in the 7th round via TKO. This was an amazing fight and could be the best fight of the year!
This sets up nicely for Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury for every single title in the division and could be a great year for boxing, however Wilder has a chance to fight Fury for a third time due to the rematch clause set by Wilder’s team so, he has 30 days to accept the fight once again and has a third chance at beating Fury and regaining his Championship belt!
