Cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has decided to go up to the top division and fight boxers like Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte! His main aim is to do what he did in the Cruiserweight division and win all the major titles in the division! The heavyweight division is filled with potential title winners that Usyk might not get many shots at the titles in this division or he could get his first loss! He is a world class boxer and could be the best boxer in the world and was voted as ESPNs fighter of the year. He has a lot of promise and a lot of talent when entering this division, but he needs to get the right fights first before jumping the gun and fighting one of the heavyweight’s top fighters! Usyk has what it takes to be the next champion, but he will have to fight other opponents first before fighting Wilder or Joshua!
Usyk has said he wants a fight against Anthony Joshua for his IBF, WBO and IBO championships in April. This fight will most likely not going to happen, but if it were to happen this could be a fight everyone wants to see! A Cruiserweight champion coming up the ranks to fight one of the best on the new division! in my opinion, this is a terrible idea for Usyk since he doesn’t know what it’s like to be in that division and could have a bad start, but who knows maybe he’ll show Joshua up and beat him. Joshua could decide to fight him if the Whyte and Wilder deal doesn’t go to plan, since he is mainly trying to fight one of these two instead of other fighters! Whyte is the other opponent Usyk could fight, there’s rumours around that could suggest this happening! This could be the perfect first fight for the Cruiserweight since he will be fighting one of the best in the division and one that has been a world champion! So, he can see where he compares to everyone else in that division. This fight has potential and has more chance of happening than the Joshua fight since he will most likely want to fight someone before fighting the best in the division!
