What to Expect in 2019 Boxing!

This is my opinion on what I think should happen, meaning who I think should fight this year!

2018 was filled with some of the greatest matches of our generation! Canelo v Golovkin, Tyson Fury v Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk v Tony Bellew. 2018 was brilliant for boxing, however 2019 should be better if these two matches do take place this year! All the fans have been waiting for some of these fights that never seemed to happen! Including myself! This year of boxing should be the best year if all these matches happen!

Anthony Joshua v Deontay Wilder!

These two have been trying to get a fight organised for years, both fighters need to step up and fight this year! This fight is will most likely break box office records due to this fight being the fight to decide the best heavyweight in the division! Deontay Wilder holds the WBC world heavyweight championship, as Anthony Joshua holds the IBF, WBO, IBO world heavyweight championship! This will decide who will beat Tyson Fury… maybe! This fight has been in talks since the start! Not one of them have agreed terms and both fighters say the other one is scared yet… the fight never happens! This year should be the year they finally decide to step up and fight for all the championships. Maybe after this fight, the winner fights Tyson Fury to see if he has what it takes to become the heavyweight champion again! Wilder has the power as Anthony have the strength and movement. This would be a close fight to call in my opinion. Both are the best fighters in the division since, they are both undefeated. Could we see another draw happen? Joshua v Wilder should happen towards the end of the year in my opinion or in April!

Oleksandr Usyk v Dillian Whyte

Oleksandr Usyk is the ESPN boxer of the year and has decided to move out of the Cruiserweight division, and to fight in the heavyweight division, however the likes of Joseph Parker have declined a fight against the Cruiserweight champion Usyk. Dillian Whyte could be the next fighter for Usyk to target. Whyte will go down as one of the best heavyweights in the division. He’s currently only lost one fight, this was against his rival Joshua. Since then he has won every fight he has went into! This would be the perfect opportunity to show his class and prove to everyone that he has what it takes ti be the next best thing. If Usyk manages to beat Whyte, what does that mean for the heavyweights that lost to Whyte? If Whyte wins, then it’ll be another day in the office for him! Who do you think would win this contest? Whyte v Usyk should happen this year… one way or another!
