UFC 236 – Holloway Vs Poirier 2.0

UFC 236 From Atlanta

The UFC returns to action this weekend, with a packed card coming from Atlanta, Georgia.  Headlining the night’s fights is the lightweight interim title bout between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.  This is obviously the second time these two competitors have met, and it was The Diamond (Poirier) who came out successful at the last meeting back in 2012.  Holloway is reigning champion in the lower 145 lbs division, and he could become the latest “champ champ” if he could avenge that loss.  A fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov awaits the victor.

The co-main event of the evening is the interim middleweight title contest between longtime battler Kelvin Gastelum and the up and coming Israel Adesanya.  The winner of this fight will go on to fight Robert Whittaker as soon as he is recovered from surgery, likely to be in the summer.
