UFC 229 Summery of the McGregor v Khabib Fight!

UFC 229 Summery of the McGregor v Khabib Fight!

Press Conference

Throughout every press conference, Conor was always out of control, he wouldn’t let Khabib say anything or even answer questions without McGregor saying something. Whenever there is a press conference between any fighter and McGregor, your always in for a treat, Conor was always on top when here  because Khabib wouldn’t say anything that much back other than ” take him back to boxing” or ” you came back to the UFC for the money, I came here for the Legacy”. Overall, Conor was way to out of control and tried he very best to get Khabib to speak up and insult him a lot but nothing worked for him and McGregor just ended up just staying insane and Khabib was mainly calm throughout the conference! From watching them i can see that McGregor was trying his best to get in the mind of Khabib and maybe succeeding but from what I saw, he wasn’t doing very well. He was just hurling insults towards the Russian and getting nothing else back off him. Safe to say Conor McGregor was the winner in the Press conference! Conor can talk the talk and back himself up due to him trash talking in both the UFC and boxing. When Khabib got asked the question “when Mayweather told you Conor isn’t scared of anyone, what was your reaction to this?” He responded with ” I’m the Mayweather of UFC”. So overall Conor won the Press Conference…

The Bus Attack!

Before even getting on the bus, both Khabib and Conor were arguing backstage of one of the press conferences, Going face to face, toe to toe and achieving nothing but trying to get into each others heads before the big fight day! Once Khabib started to leave and head towards the bus, McGregor would follow still insulting the Russian before getting into the bus! After he is about to leave… all hell breaks loose! As he was leaving the car park McGregor and his team was throwing chairs, tables, fencing, just anything they can get there hands on! Huge fight broke loose between both teams while the bus was leaving. Now in my opinion, Conor should of been banned from UFC just for this, this is unacceptable by any means, you can hurl insults at each other but don’t go throwing and vandalising anything! This would of made Khabib more angry before the fight allowing him to have more anger than McGregor!

Saturday 6th October … Fight Day!

The fight ended badly for Conor,  the fight ended on round 4 and Khabib got his payback from the Bus and all of the trash talking he did towards Khabib. Conor went though each round and what he thought about each round, do a quick summary about each round he described.
Round 1
Conor was on top, landing a lot of his punches showing everyone Khabib isn’t anything and why no one should be scared of him, Khabib couldn’t do anything to McGregor, this was the round McGregor was on top and 100%  won that round on points
Round 2
During this round Khabib started to fight back and ran around the ring! He kept hitting McGregor with his right hook and managed to change the fight from being an easy fight for McGregor, to the hardest fight of McGregors life! Khabib won this round on points due to him inflicting the most pain!
Round 3
After one hard battle for both fighters, they started engaging more and hitting each other more than they ever did in the other two rounds! However according to reports and Conor analysis’s of the fight, Conor won that round on points!
Round 4
After a hard and brutal few rounds, both fighters were tired, Conor more than Khabib. He didn’t recover well he stated in an Instagram post, Shown Below! Conor made a few critical errors and lost due to him tapping out!

After this Khabib started fighting his team out of the ring… I think everyone is thinking the same, Both fighters should have been banned due to both attacking both teams. Conor shouldn’t of attacked the bus and Khabib shouldn’t of attacked Conors team outside the ring. Its an embarrassment to the sport! That’s just my opinion on what should of happened! I know there was rumours of a rematch but Khabibs manager confirmed that he isn’t going to waste his time with McGregor therefore no rematch!

Thoughts on my last fight. Round 1. I believe from a sport standpoint, round 1 was his. Top position against the fence. Zero position advancement or damage inflicted. But top position. From a fight standpoint the first round is mine. Actual shots landed and a willingness to engage. Straight left early. Knee to the head on the low shot. Elbows in any and all tie up scenarios. Opponent just holding the legs against the fence for almost the entire round. Round 2 he is running away around the cage before being blessed with a right hand that changed the course of the round, and the fight. It was a nice shot. After the shot I bounced back up to engage instantly, but again he dipped under to disengage. That is the sport and it was a smart move that led to a dominant round, so no issue. Well played. If I stay switched on and give his stand up even a little more respect, that right hand never gets close and we are talking completely different now. I gave his upright fighting no respect in preparation. No specific stand up spars whatsoever. Attacking grapplers/wrestlers only. That won’t happen again. I also gave my attacking grappling no respect. To defense minded. Lessons. Listen to nobody but yourself on your skill set. You are the master of your own universe. I am the master of this. I must take my own advice. Round 3. After the worst round of my fighting career, I come back and win this round. Again walking forward, walking him down, and willing to engage. Round 4. My recovery was not where it could have been here. That is my fault. Although winning the early exchanges in 4, he dips under again and I end up in a bad position with over 3 on the clock. I work to regain position and end up upright, with my back to the fence. A stable position. Here however, I made a critical error of abandoning my over hook at this crucial time, exposing the back, and I end up beaten fair and square. What can I say? It was a great fight and it was my pleasure. I will be back with my confidence high. Fully prepared. If it is not the rematch right away, no problem. I will face the next in line. It’s all me always, anyway. See you soon my fighting fans I love you all ❤
