Tyson Fury is one of the current best fighters in the world, coming back from depression to win the WBC World Title. He has stated that he wants to face Joshua before retiring!
Negotiations for this “mega fight” started when Tyson Fury called out the former champion to fight for his WBC world title.
The fight fell through and Fury ended up fighting Chisora for the title instead. This fight was made for December, however the fight broke through in September!

“I don’t think I can retire today because I need that Joshua fight,”
“We have been trying to make that fight for years. It’s the fight that people want to see. It’s the fight that I want to see as a boxing fan.” Said Fury!
This fight is needing to happen as both men have stated that they are willing to fight, however the contract is never perfect for either fighter.
Negotiations ended with both parties blaming each other for the fight not coming to fruition.
The reason this fight may have happened sooner rather than later, was due to Joshua losing his titles in August fully to Usyk, which could spark an Usyk v Fury fight.
The WBC board has ordered the likes of Wilder and Ruiz Jr to fight to see if who should fight for the WBC w0rld title next after Chisora.
