This is just my opinions of the rounds and scores. These aren’t the scores that the judges gave, this is my opinion of the fight!
On the 1st December, Fury went up against Wilder for his WBC World Heavyweight Championship. The fight was going to determine who is the best Heavyweight in the division. Fury was away for 3 years before having this fight as well! Tyson Fury was one of the best boxers in the world, he outclassed Klitschko and in this fight… He outclassed Deontay Wilder. Wilder thought he would have an easy fight, knocking him out in the 2th or 3rd round, but no. Fury managed to survive the whole 12 rounds and should of won the fight. The judges got it wrong, Fury dominated the entire fight and somehow didn’t win. Wilder knew it and Fury knew it. Instead of complaining saying he won, he decided to go for Anthony Joshua, maybe Anthony Joshua’s next fight will be against Tyson Fury! Wilder was the favourite in this contest, just because he’s fought in 40 fights and knocked out 39, however he hasn’t gone up against anyone to great in the past… this was his first fight against someone who has the same amount of talent in the ring as he does!
Round 1
Both fighters knew what they had to do. Fury would try his best to win on points and potential knockout Wilder, as for Wilder he was trying to figure out what Fury’s fight style is. From what I saw, it’s hard to predict what Fury’s fight style is. He would wait for the right opportunity and strike with a lot of punches then leave! Wilder got a few good body shots in as well, however I would have given this round to Fury since he dominated the entre match and didn’t slow down at all, plus he hit a lot more punches than Wilder! Wilder couldn’t hit Fury this round, he could only hit his body. Fury is winning on points for me at 10-9!
Round 2
Round 2 was a lot better for Wilder! He managed to get a lot more combinations in, which shuck Fury but not enough to put him to the ground. Fury had a few nice hits on Wilder and nearly won the round for me. Wilder had more movement and more hits on Fury that made me go towards Wilder more than Fury on this one. Wilder showed his true potential in this round as he landed more punches, Fury did well to dodge most of them, but overall Wilder won this round! Wilder and Fury on the same points going into Round 3. 19-19. Wilder won this round 10-9! I thought that this was the end for Fury since Wilder finally started to land punches and started to get use to Fury!
Round 3
Fury went on hard in round 3, Dodging every move Wilder tried to do. Wilder couldn’t really hit Fury this round! In my opinion, round 3 for Wilder was the hardest round, he could touch Fury much and Fury was able to use his reach and momentum to get towards Wilder and punch him more and more until the round was over. Although Fury did drop back a lot when fighting, he made up for in punching and making sure he wins the round on points. At this point I knew Fury’s idea was to dominate Wilder through as many rounds as he could and win on points, he knew he wouldn’t be able to knock down Deontay Wilder! This round for me went to Fury. 10-9 to Fury, meaning he’s winning on points once again!
Round 4
4 round of boxing, I thought Fury would have been tired by now due to him dominating Wilder and moving all around the ring for the last 9 minutes, however he managed to keep going. Fury went for the win on points once again. From being unable to box and having the hardest 3 years of his life, to outclassing Deontay Wilder in the 4th round! He really showed us all what he can do on the main stage even after the 3 years. I have to give Fury respect for this! Tyson Fury outclassing Wilder in this round as well… Wilder not able to throw a serious shot to Fury. Fury won this round for me again. 10-9! So far, its 39-37 to Fury! Wilder needed to start hitting his fatal punches otherwise we would have had a new WBC champion!
Round 5
Fury kept going and kept pressuring Wilder! Wilder had no idea what to do against him… Kind of like Klitschko! Fury hangs off fighter so it’s a lot harder to hit them and it’s a lot harder to throw a punch at them! The 5th round was the same as the last 2 rounds, Wilder was unable to punch Fury that badly and Fury was able to win the round on points once again! Tyson wasn’t really going for any knock out punches, he was thinking the points will matter near the end! He knew Wilder wasn’t going down without a huge blow, so he decided to go for the points victory! Round 5 goes to Fury once again. 10-9!
Round 6
Round 6 was the round you could tell Wilder was getting annoyed, every time Wilder would go anywhere near Fury ion this round, he would always cling! Wilder was rolling his eyes and constantly shaking his head because he wasn’t able to get near Fury without him doing this! This was affective in this round since Wilder was wanting to get some punches up close! Didn’t go well for Wilder! Fury won this round in my opinion as well! 10-9! Wilder was needing to win or knockout Fury in the next 6 rounds if he was wanting to win the fight and not lose his title to the Gypsy King!
Round 7
Wilder trying his best to get punches in and win the round by either knockout or on points but Fury was having none of it. Taunting Wilder and showing him who’s the future champion. He dodges all of his combinations somehow again and showed signs that he was going to go the distance! Landing a few combinations of his own, Fury ended up beating Wilder on points in my opinion again since Wilder was missing every single punch and he was getting outclassed! Round 7 goes to Fury. 10-9! This was the End of Wilders chances… if he didn’t knock Fury down at least once or twice in the last 5 rounds! He needed to pull out all the stops these last 5 rounds!
Round 8
Round 8 was the same as round 7 in my opinion, Wilder doing his best to try and get around Fury and get close to have a chance of knocking Fury down, Fury was able to dodge away! For not being in a fight for 3 years, he’s really giving us all a classic Fury fight! He always seems to outclass his opponents and manages to get inside their heads. This round goes to Fury once again! Fury was on top form in this fight! 10-9 to fury again! All of his training leading up to this fight was worth it. He was winning the fight and not showing signs of being knocked down by Wilder.
Round 9
This was all Wilder’s round! He really went for Fury. Wilder was waiting and waiting for an opening that could change the entre matchup. Once he saw that opening, he went for it. Wilder knocked Fury down with a lot of time still to go. Fury had no idea how Wilder was able to do that against him, but he knew that if he did get knocked down, he needed to get back up and fight, which is exactly what he did! Wilder wasn’t that shocked about this due to the punches not landing well, however this didn’t stop Wilder from going all out to try and knock him down one more time! To many punches that tired him out and Fury tired to knock him down, until the bell rang! This round went to Wilder. 10-8 Wilder!
Round 10
I thought this was the end for Fury, I thought Wilder was hoping to knock out Fury and retain his title and then fight Joshua in April, however Fury surprised me by fighting back! Wilder didn’t see it coming, he thought this round would have been an easy bout but no! Fury ended up almost knocking Wilder out. His legs were wobbling around the ring every time Fury punched him! Fury got his breath back and won this round on points! 10-9 Fury! To me Fury dominated every round apart from 2, round 2 and round 9! Turning point for Fury!
Round 11
Round 11 was the same as round 10 in my opinion. Fury dominating Wilder and Wilder not standing a chance against Fury! This was the best fight of the year and we still have one more to see! Whyte v Chisora! Wilder looked extremely tired at this point and couldn’t move around the ring as much as Fury could, this ended the round for him and he wasn’t able to really provide any finishing punches! Fury wins the round once again! Fury has won 9 rounds out of 11 so far in my opinion! 10-9 once again for Fury! We were about to see a new Heavyweight champion!
Round 12
This was the last round of the fight, Wilder needed to knock out Fury in order to win my vote! Fury was winning, in my opinion and all he had to do was stay away from Wilder and stay stood up! Wilder went for him, nothing came of the first few hits but as soon as he got the opportunity to… he didn’t disappoint! Knocking Fury right to the ground. Not moving, slight movement in his head but I thought he was knocked out for good! Wilder celebrates in the corner thinking he’s won the fight, but Fury gets up somehow from them hard hits and continues the fight. Wilder couldn’t believe it! I couldn’t believe it! Once the round was over, Fury celebrated like he won the first ever title as for Wilder he stayed calm with his head down. Wilder won that on points for me! 10-8!
In my eyes, Wilder lost the fight on points. Fury won 115-111 on points due to him dominating the fight through out and only getting knocked down twice, however the judges ruled the match as a draw! Split decision caused this, one judge said Wilder won, another said Fury Won, as the last judge said it was a draw!, So the match ended as a draw. I think that Fury won the fight because he was able to outclass Wilder in so many ways and was able to stay standing in each round and be the better fighter, however the judges thought Wilder was good enough for a draw! This has happen to Fury twice now, one helped him pick up a win as this one only got him a draw! They need a better way to determine who is the winner because a lot of other fans of boxing believe Fury won the fight! We can’t change what the judges have said but we can state that Fury won! Now the main question stands, will Joshua fight Fury after Fury called him out? April 2019 Joshua v Fury for all the other championships? April 2019 Joshua v Wilder? Which one would you rather happen?
