The Heavyweight Division a “Disaster”?

The Heavyweight Division a “Disaster”?

Three main fighters, three great athletes, three incredible performers and three unbeaten fighters! 2018 boxing is something every fan will remember, Deontay Wilder, one of the best pound for pound boxer, went up against Tyson Fury, one of the world’s best and most remarkable fighters in the world! This fight ended as a draw with these two fighters saying and promising a rematch between the two. At the start of the year, this fight looked like it was going to happen, with some possibility of Anthony Joshua fighting one instead, however both fighters have decided to fight other people before fighting each other again! 2019 was going to be the year of heavyweight boxing, but now its seeming to be over before it started. Over 100 rumours of a fight between two of the three best heavyweights, but not one happened!

Anthony Joshua, the IBO, WBA, WBO and IBF champion, was going to be fighting at Wembley in April. This fight was, hopefully, going to be the fight that everyone was waiting for. Eddie Hearn tried and tried again to get a fight between Joshua and Wilder, but it fell short and now we have a fight happening in June against Jarrell Miller. In just a four-week period, we have Wilder v Breazeale on the 18th May, Joshua v Miller on the 1st June and Fury v Schwarz on the 15th June… what happened? We were meant to be seeing some of the best fights in the world this year and right now… we can see what is going to happen!

Big fight this year could be possible however! Since these are all at the start of the year, who knows what could happen at the end! We could see either the rematch between Wilder and Fury happen in December again, or we could see Joshua fighting Wilder for the WBC heavyweight championship or fighting Fury to show he can be beaten! Wilder should be taking the Joshua fight however, since this could end the war between who is the better fighter and could result in who is the current best boxer! What could happen this year in boxing? Joshua v Wilder, Joshua v Fury or Fury v Wilder?
