Oleksandr Usyk Retains!

Oleksandr Usyk is one of the best boxers in the world right now, with an impressive record as a professional fighter and beating the likes of Chisora and Joshua twice now! The fight between Joshua and Usyk was hyped up for Joshua as he was hoping to beat the fighter, however, he was short and managed to lose his second fight with Usyk, however, he was not happy about it as he talks about it during the post fight interview!

Joshua was left stunned after he lost to Usyk in the rematch that took place on the 20th of August 2022.

Usyk performed the same as he did in the last fight and even having no training during a difficult time for him and the rest of Ukraine, he managed to come back and put on a great performance.

The score was closer than it was last time with Joshua winning the bout on one judges scorecard. The other two scored the bout to Usyk.

“Usyk is one hell of a fighter. That’s just emotion, If you knew my story, you’d understand the passion. I’m not an amateur boxer. I was going to jail and I got bail and I started training.

It shows the passion we put into this. For this guy to beat me tonight, it shows the levels of hard work he must have put in, so please give him a round of applause as heavyweight champion of world.

They said that I’m not a 12-round fighter. I ain’t 14 stone, I’m 18 stone, I’m heavy. It’s hard work. This guy here is phenomenal.” said Joshua during a rant! However he said this to Usyk!

“You’re not strong, how did you beat me? Because of skills. I had character and determination.”

Joshua was not happy about the loss and this has made his career slip back a few steps as he has lost all the belts that held him togther, however Eddie Hearn has revieled that Joshua could have lost the passion to fight for belts as their was too many mandatory fights happening.
