Joshua on Ruiz v Joshua Fight!

Joshua on Ruiz v Joshua Fight!

As we all know, Joshua lost his titles on the 1st June 2019 to Andy Ruiz Jr, a bout that seemed easy to predict, however the Mexican born fighter proved the whole world wrong by beating the Englishmen in his own game. Joshua didn’t know what hit him and had no way of recovering from that fight. Andy Ruiz knew what to do and how to execute it and managed to beat the unbeaten fighter via KO in the 7th round and says he will do the same in the rematch later this year.

Former heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua said that Andy Ruiz wasn’t the man he was wanting to fight and the one that he lost all his titles to. Joshua was hoping he was going to fight Jarrell Miller and he was focused and determined to fight the American fighter, until he got drug tested and there were metabolic Modulator drugs found in his system. After this was discovered, Joshua wasn’t hyped for the fight and wasn’t psyched up enough to fight Andy Ruiz. “It’s hard, I’m trying to psych myself up, but I don’t have any envy or hate for this guy,” Joshua said.

All of this was explained in a video named “… Take It In And Apply It ~ Anthony Joshua”. He explained everything he was thinking and everything that went on in that fight, it’ll be linked at the bottom of the post.

One of the reasons why Joshua could have lost the fight other than the reasons he has given, could of been the way he was training for a few months before he had the fight cancelled with Miller. Since he was originally fighting Jarrell Miller, he would have been training around his fight style but had to change due to him failing his drug test! Therefore, changing his fight style. Joshua did admit that he didn’t have any hate towards the guy and wasn’t feeling up to it due to them not having any press conferences. “We haven’t even done a press conference, so I didn’t feel too hyped up.”

“Nothing felt different, I was focused. It doesn’t matter where you put me. You could put us in the shed and fight us in the garden, no problem. The objective remains the same, doesn’t it? Go out there and do your best. But no, nothing felt different.” Joshua explained. He was focused but didn’t feel hyped up to the event!

The fight started and Joshua said that Ruiz “barely” put a sweat on him and he was fine until the third round. Third round was where everything went down! Joshua knocked down Ruiz, looking like he was going to finish him off but then Ruiz knocked him down, not once but twice. Joshua admitted to not remembering anything after he got knocked down and knew he had a hard hit and admitted he could recover from it! “I couldn’t really remember where I was at the time, I just knew that I was in for a fight and that I shouldn’t be here (on the canvas) so I got back up to my feet and we went again.”

Who will win the rematch?
