Daniel Jacobs: Where to Now?

Daniel Jacobs: Where to Now?

After the unfortunate defeat to the Mexican boxer, Canelo, Jacobs has got a choice to make! He was over the limited weight required for the Canelo fight and had to pay £250k per pound he was over, so this asks one question, will Jacobs go up into the super middleweight division or will he stay in the middleweight division?

If he stays in the middleweight division, he will be so much weaker than the other boxers in there because he will have to start training more and eating less to get rid of some pounds before fighting anyone else, otherwise he may be spending another £250k per pound again. As of right now, he is considered as a top-class middleweight athlete, however his loss to Canelo means he may have to climb up the ladder once again to try and get another shot at any title in that division! He could become the next IBO or WBO middleweight champion, however he will most likely go up into the super middleweight division.

If he decides to go up into the super middleweight, he will have more control and more chances to fight for the titles, he won’t have to worry about being too weak or being over the required weight in this division. He could be the next super middleweight champion, only if he decides to go up a weight class. Th fighters he will have to go up against are; Callum Smith, he currently holds the WBA super title, Anthony Dirrell, currently owns the WBC title and Caleb Plant, who currently owns the IBF title! This would be the better chance for him, since then he won’t have to go down a few pounds, he just must go up a few pounds!
