A massive event took place for women’s boxing this weekend. The event that changed history for the women’s division and one that could have changed the way we all look at women’s boxing forever! Claressa Shields went up agaisnt Savanah Marshall for the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO world middleweight championship. Both fighters were unbeaten heading into this fight, both fighters were known as the best. Someone’s 0 had to go!
The fight was great for boxing fans around the world, rather than clinching, holding on and more, they stood toe to toe and fought, showing the world what they are capable of.
From the start to the end of the fight, they fought toe to toe with Shields having the upper hand and being the best in that fight with her defence and her attacks.
Shields showed a lot of great head movement and great striking ability as well. Showing that she is known as the best for a great reason. Marshall however has shown great heart and determination to stay in the fight and keep going toe to toe with Shields.
The fight ended with Shields being the winner of the contest and both fighters show respect to one another.
