British middleweight champion Callum Smith has said he is more than happy to fight Canelo soon.
We all know what Canelo can do to anyone of his opponents. He’s been in more than 50 fights and only lost once to Floyd Mayweather! He will be known as the face of boxing and the best pound for pound boxer in the world. He managed to unify the middleweight division in Las Vegas after getting a victory over Daniel Jacobs. Before all of this however, Canelo went up against Rocky Fielding in the super middleweight division and won, so a fight against Callum Smith may happen in the future! No ruling it out, since Canelo is wanting to go up into that division!
Callum Smith is currently undefeated in 25 fights and winning 18 of these fights via the way of KO. He currently owns the WBA super middleweight title and could be on his way to become a great fighter in the future. He went up against one of the best fighters in his division, George Groves and won via KO in the 7th round. He has also been up against Rocky Fielding, however he managed to beat him in the 1st round, as Canelo beat him in the 3rd round! Callum Smith could be the man to beat Canelo… if this fight does end up happening soon.
After the Canelo v Jacobs fight, Canelo said he wanted to go up against Gennedy Golovkin, GGG, for the third time in his career. These two have been in the ring together twice, once in 2017, which ended as a draw, and once in 2018 which resulted in Canelo beating the unbeaten fighter! GGG has said he is wanting to fight Canelo again, for the last time. This will determine if Canelo got a lucky win against GGG or if he really is the best pound for pound boxer in the world.
