Boxing Double Knockdown?

Boxing Double Knockdown?

In Boxing, there is a rule implement that means that the fighter that has been knocked down, the other fight automatically win this round via that one, two or three knockdowns, depends on how many knockdowns they may see.

This rule was implemented to make sure the fighter that gets the knockdown, gets the chance to win the fight as well as getting the points to say they won that round, however what happens if both fighters get knockdown in the same fashion?

There is a rule in boxing that stats that if both fighters are to be knocked down and knocked out, the bout will be declared as a draw. This rarely happens in boxing as there is never an incident where this may occur as the fight normally ends with a winner via points or a winner via KO.

The other rule with knockdowns is that if both fighters are knocked down in the same round and or the same time, the knockdown cancels out for the one that did fall beforehand and or if they both get knocked down at the same time. Due to this there would be no points deduction as they would more than likely be on 8-8 or 8-7 and that would make the fight more confusing.

There has been a few incidents like this however, the one that comes to mind is the Thomas Hearn’s vs Jay Snyder 1998. Where both men were knocked down in the first round, however Hearn’s got back up while Snyder stayed down for the count and Hearn’s won via a first round KO.
