Anthony Joshua v Andy Ruiz Jr 2!

Anthony Joshua v Andy Ruiz Jr 2!

After a huge upset at Madison’s Square Garden, Anthony Joshua has said he will be fighting Andy Ruiz Jr once again due to the contract saying about a immediate rematch if the champion lost the fight. The rematch clause has been used!

June 1st didn’t end well or start well for the undefeated champion of the world, Anthony Joshua. Rumours started to spread about the Englishmen as soon as the fight finished. The rumours were about Joshua not feeling it and wasn’t up for the task. Fans believe that Eddie Hearn was told by Joshua’s dad to not allow him to compete in this contest however, he denied it and let Joshua go in to fight the Mexican fighter, however Joshua said that these rumours are in fact fake… Doesn’t quite add up however since Eddie Hearn had Joshua’s dad yelling at him at the end of the fight. The fight ended with Joshua losing his first bout, after 22 fights Joshua has finally lost and now out of the undefeated fighters list.

Joshua has had a track record of losing to smaller opponents in amateur fights, however, hasn’t fought anyone smaller than Povetkin until Ruiz!

Eddie Hearn believes that if Joshua goes into the next fight like he did this bout and loses once again to the Mexican powerhouse, Andy Ruiz Jr, he’s career will be in danger and won’t be able to recover it so easy! “There’s so much pressure on the rematch, as if he loses that second fight then his career is not in a great place, what we saw was one of the biggest heavyweight shocks of all time. But we also saw an amazing fight, and now it’s down to Anthony.” said Hearn.

As of right now, the WBA, WBO and IBF Champion is Andy Ruiz Jr, however many fans believe that Joshua will win the rematch and shouldn’t have lost the first fight anyway. Getting Floored 4 times in the matter of 5 rounds is a first for the 29-year-old fighter. Before this fight, only Klitschko put the fighter down, now Ruiz has floored him and caused him to lose his first fight via TKO.
The fight date has not been confirmed; however, Eddie Hearn has said it’ll either be in November or December. This fight won’t be in the UK or even in the US, Andy Ruiz Jr wants the fight to be in Mexico… his hometown! Who will win the rematch?
