June 1st is a night Anthony Joshua will be wanting to forget about. The night where the underdog beat the undefeated fighter via TKO in the 7th round. Andy Ruiz Jr defined all odds by beating the unbeaten champion in Madison Square Garden. The USA saw the worse in Anthony Joshua that night. For the first few rounds, Joshua seemed at the top of his game, controlling the fight with Andy Ruiz getting a few punches here and there, however, the third round was where everything went downhill. Eddie Hearn will be hoping for the rematch soon, people will also be blaming Drake due to the “Drake Curse” myth that is going around! (The Drake curse is a joke that was going around in football and has now continued to Boxing)
Round 3 was the round that decided the entire fight. Round 3 started with the main man, AJ, knocking down Ruiz early on, it was looking like AJ was going to win the fight in 3 rounds, however, once Ruiz got up, Anthony Joshua seemed to think he’s won and ended up losing that round… Joshua went down to the floor twice, even wobbling towards his corner. Joshua seemed out of the fight after this round, messing up every punch and doing the same combinations which Ruiz got used to and capitalized on it. Round 7 happened, AJ down twice again, however, the second time he went down the referee stopped the fight and Ruiz became the first Mexican fighter to be the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO World Heavyweight Champion!

Antony Joshua has finally been defeated by someone that everyone thought was going to lose the fight. Andy Ruiz Jr shocked the whole boxing world. That night was Ruiz’s night and no one would have taken that away from the underdog! There will be a rematch at some point in the next few months, Anthony Joshua has confirmed it and so has Eddie Hearn, it’s just when the fight will happen or when the fight will be aired. Either in the US or UK. November or December, the fight will happen!
