Andy Ruiz Jr has had a weird come up to boxing in the history of boxing. He was going into fights and climbing the ladder like a normal fighter, however there was a chance for him to become heavyweight champion of the world, he took it and now he is at the top of the chain and having chances more than ever. After losing to Anthony Joshua, he has won all his next fights and could come back to the heavyweight champion if he trains well.
Recently, he went up against Luis Ortiz in a regular contest and he managed to do incredible well and even knock the man down in one of the rounds. This contest was a WBC Title Eliminator.
After this, Andy Ruiz Jr. decided to call out a veteran of the sport, a former WBC World Heavyweight Champion and known as the knock out king. Deontay Wilder.
This could be a great fight for the Mexican fighter and could be what he needs to be at the top of the chain.
“I thought I did a beautiful job boxing and countering,” he said. “I thought I showed some different class than I usually do instead of just pressuring him and going forward.”
“[Haymon] can make this fight [with Wilder] happen so let’s do it, let’s get it on,” said Ruiz.
