Michael Flynn a staunch supporter of Mr Trump during the election campaign and subsequently short-lived national security adviser appears to have turned whistleblower in an attempt to stay out of jail. He was National Security adviser for 23 days this ending in Feb 2017 upon revelations that he had lied to Vice-President Mike Pence about the discussion with the then Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak. Given he has admitted to lying to the FBI this was probably his only course of action. Currently, under scrutiny as part of the ongoing Mueller investigation re possible Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, he has apparently provided “Useful Information” and it will be interesting to see how this progresses things. President Trump might be a little worried right now.
