Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was taken to hospital with “major back injuries” following a car accident in Los Angeles.

Hart was a passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda on Mulholland Highway at the time of the accident. The car had lost control and tumbled down an embankment on Sunday.
The driver, Jared Black, also sustained major back injuries and a third passenger was unhurt. Black was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. Hart left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention. Hart was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Centre however, the injuries to his back are currently unknown.
Hart bought the car in July as a 40th birthday gift to himself.
