This breed is a small dog breed with an incredible amount of energy, as they are extremely lively dogs that thrive on human company and for decades have been one of the most popular family breeds to own in the UK but also in many other part of the world too. They are very popular for good reason too they are intelligent little dogs, that are loyal and alert. They are also very highly adaptable and can happily live in an apartment and a house. This small breed is often mistaken for a Lhasa Apso due to their similar looks but the pair of breed are very different of temperament.

Theses dogs were first originally bred in China they were highly prized by Emperors,  but today they are classed as utility dogs and have earned a place in the hearts and homes of people all over the world.

These dogs are outgoing, lively and confident small dogs with a really extrovert character by nature. They love being including in family getting involved in what’s going on around them and joining in on interactive games. They love being around people and thrive on human company. These dogs hate being left on their own for long period of time so best suited for a household that has someone who is home often so they dog does get stressed or anxious.

They are very intelligent which makes them easy to train and they are the perfect dog for first time owner as they are joy to have around. Be aware they need to well socialised at a young age this is to help them get used to people as they can become wary of strangers.

These dogs have the average lifespan of 10 to 16 years when they are cared for correctly and given the appropriate good quality diet to suit their age.
