
The Kennel Club UK Pastoral Dog Breed Group.
Currently (2020) they recognise 221 breeds of dog, all of which have been bred for different purposes and each has been consigned to one of seven groups. This according to factors such as size, shape, function, and temperament.
The seven dog groups recognised by the Kennel Club are; Toy, Utility, Gundog, Working, Pastoral, Terrier, and Hound. Below is a list of those falling under the Pastoral dog breed group.

Pastoral Breeds

Pastoral Group breeds refer to dogs that are associated with herding and working with (mainly) cloven-footed animals, which includes cattle, sheep, goats and even reindeer. These dog breeds usually have a thick weatherproof double coat to protect them from the worst of climatic conditions (meaning they take a lot of grooming as pets). The following Dog breeds are in the Pastoral Group.
