British Shorthairs are one of the most popular pure breeds in the UK and this is for a really good reason. They are known for being the perfect family pet and they are also known for being lovely and loyal towards owners.

The British Shorthair are known for being kind, placid and having a very affectionate nature. They love being involved with what’s going on around them. They mature really late which they keep their kitten like mentally even as an adult cat. They are known for getting along with other animals likes dog and have normally laid back.

They are not overly energetic and will happy laze about the home if they can. They are not known for being very vocal either, but once they have a strong bond and they learn there routine they can sometime become more vocal around meal time.

They are very adventurous cats and enjoy exploring there outdoor surrounding and indoor surrounding. If you keep it inside then you will have to give it plenty affection and leave it plenty things to play with.

However if the cat is an indoor cat it is prone to grain weight quickly and you will need to stimulate the cat to prevent it becoming a couch potato. The cat is also known for laying on top news papers when you may trying to red it or laying on top of keyboards when trying to work.

These cat are extremely intelligent, however they love routine and if changes this might cause the cat some stress. These cat are also good around children and known when to interact with them and when to back off.

The British Shorthair has an average lifespan of 14 and 20 years when is cared for right and is fed the right nurturance this is especially important when its a kitten and when it’s older. You also need to make sure it groom on a regular basis and due to their hair being short it is very low maintenance.
