The UK is currently in their second lockdown during the second wave of the virus, a month before the most festive holiday of the year, Christmas. This year has been strange in many ways, with lockdown being the only part of this year most people can remember, being stuck at home and not being able to see family and friends, however, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Right now, Covid-19 has surpassed 15,000 cases, most recently it has been surpassing over 20,000 but the past 2 days in the UK, there has been a massive drop in cases, 2 days ago there were over 22,000 cases, yesterday there were 19,000 cases. Lockdown is working in most parts by bringing the cases down, however not by much.

If cases don’t continue to fall, then the Health Secretary will be forced to put the UK into lockdown in December. Meaning Christmas is going to be different this year. Lockdown may just be scrapped as nothing much has changed apart from a few businesses that have shut down due to coronavirus being hard to contain and hard to stop.

The tier system has been said to return in December if all goes well and the UK gets taken out of lockdown. If all goes well that is. If all doesn’t go well then the UK will extend lockdown into December.
