Tunisia has been under a state of emergency since 2015 and this was due to end next month but another terrorist attack in the Capital Tunis may delay this as well as damage the fragile recovery in the tourism market that it was experiencing.
At least nine people (mostly police officers) were reportedly injured in the blast which was close to the French Embassy.
