Telecoms Company Zain Sudan Restore Internet But Only For One Person

It wouldn’t do to be a social media junkie in Sudan as the now ruling military council shut it down three weeks ago following more civil unrest. However, this might be about to change following a court ruling in favour of Sudanese lawyer Abdel-Adheem Hassan who is currently the only civilian with internet access. The whole of the web has been shut down and the only way around this is via complicated hacks and VPNs. However, Mr Hassan is returning to court to extend the lifting to the general population and he hopes that over one million people will have access again after today.

Although it may not seem like the biggest issue facing the country, the blackout is interfering with humanitarian operations and will be affecting the economy which will further enrage the protesters who are demanding a return to civilian rule.
