Police who are investigating the disappearance of Sarah Wellgreen have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

Sarah Wellgreen was last seen on October 9th near her home in New Ash Green, Kent. She was reported missing two days later.

Police say the suspect aged 30 was detained on October 16th but has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder. This is following new information that had been received by the investigation team. A new search of a property will be taking place today.

It has been reported by the official ‘Search for Sarah Wellgreen’ Facebook page that the man is Sarah’s ex-partner Ben Lacomba who is also the father of her three children. He was bailed until the 16th January 2019, but the arrest was remade today.

The property that is being searched again is Sarah’s home that she shared with her ex-partner.

The family celebrated her birthday in her absence on December 14th. Sarah’s son Lewis Burdett has said the family are living a “never-ending nightmare”.

Her disappearance is being treated as a possible murder after it was very out of character for her to disappear; the only item missing is her black iPhone 4.

Kent Police said: “Detectives investigating the disappearance of Sarah Wellgreen have re-arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

“Following information received by the investigation team, a further search of a property in New Ash Green is being carried out on 20 December 2018.

“The man, in his 30s, was previously arrested on 16 October in connection with the investigation.”
